Surrey County Cricket Club can today announce that they have signed England and Hampshire batsman Kevin Pietersen on loan until the end of the season.
Pietersen, 30, will be available for all of Surrey’s remaining matches and is set to make his debut against the Worcestershire Royals in tomorrow night’s floodlit Clydesdale Bank 40 match at the Brit Insurance Oval.
The loan agreement has been made at the request of the ECB as Pietersen – one of the most destructive batsmen in the world – looks to play himself into form ahead of this winter’s Ashes series, which will start in Brisbane on November 25. As Pietersen is contracted to England, the arrangement will be at no cost to the Club.
Speaking today Paul Sheldon, Chief Executive of Surrey County Cricket Club, said: “We are very pleased to be in a position to have agreed to the ECB’s request to assist Kevin’s return to form.”
Surrey’s Professional Cricket Manager Chris Adams added: “It is great to have someone of the stature and quality of Kevin Pietersen as part of Surrey Cricket for the rest of the season. I have no doubt that he will have a positive influence both on and off the pitch and we welcome him to the Club.”
Kevin Pietersen said: “I am grateful to be given the opportunity by Surrey to hopefully score some runs and be part of their team in their remaining games this season.”
Ladies and gents,
I’m writing to invite you and your friends to join me in the Tri for Life
triathlon at Dorney Lake, Eton, on Sunday 5th September, as part of a
special Dallaglio Foundation wave which will be raising money for Cancer
Research UK.
I’d be honoured to have your support alongside me, as well as 200 Foundation
supporters and a few celebrity friends who are taking part in the wave, each
raising a minimum of £350 for the charity.
The day itself will be a whole load of fun with events for the kids as well
so please feel free to bring along your friends and families and join us for
what should be a special occasion.
All the information is on our website -

If you're not able to join me, please feel free to spread the word to any
friends or family who might be interested, or anyone who needs to shift a
few pounds after the summer!
So who’s with me?!
Best wishes,
Lawrence

I am writing on behalf of myself and three friends who are cycling from Lands End to John O'Groates, which is the length of the UK! The journey is well over 900 miles and will take at least 8 days to complete.
We are doing it with the aim of raising money (lots hopefully!!) for a number of charities, namely the British Heart Foundation and Breast Cancer UK, two charities that are close to each of the four involved.

Soccer Aid began in 2006 as the brainwave of UNICEF Ambassador Robbie Williams. Broadcast live on ITV1, the football match features two teams of celebrities and football legends: England vs. The Rest of the World.
This year's players include celebrities such as Mike Myers and Woody Harrelson, and football legends Zinedine Zidane and Ryan Giggs.
Soccer Aid aims to raise money for UNICEF’s crucial work helping to put it right for the world’s most vulnerable children. Throughout the match coverage, viewers will see short films by UNICEF Ambassadors detailing how the money raised will benefit children around the world.
Previous Soccer Aid events in 2006 and 2008 have helped to improve the lives of more than one million children, and we hope to raise lots more money in 2010!
