Lisa Connell's Story

About Lisa

In 2006, at the age of 27, Lisa Connell was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Since then she has found through her own personal experience that there is little known about the research, treatments and information available surrounding the illness and it’s cause. Therefore from Lisa’s own battle with the illness she has made it her personal mission to raise £1 million pounds for charity through the business she has created, www.RentADateForCharity.com

In September, House of Fraser has agreed to lend a window in Oxford Street in London, for the purposes of promoting the re-launch of her website in 2010.  Lisa will not only be modelling the House of Fraser’s own brand but will be using this time to promote the re-launch of her unique and original online auction dating site along with her campaign in a bid to raise money for brain cancer charities.

In preparation for this, Lisa needs to lose weight and tone up so a weight loss programme and personal training sessions would be the perfect way of achieving this. And Bio-Synergy will be helping her achieve this, keep checking back on this page and we will be updating it with her progress.

About Rent A Date For Charity

Rent A Date For Charity is the ‘Original Auction Dating Website’ allowing everyday people and celebrities to put themselves up for auction to the highest bidder with proceeds going to brain cancer charities.

To date, celebrities such as Cheryl Baker, Sophie Anderton, Jimmi Harkishin who plays ‘Dev’ in Coronation Street, Rowan Bailey from Shipwrecked, Big Brother's Orlaith McAllister, and Nicola Mclean recently seen on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and many more have given their support towards the cause.

Rent A Date For Charity is now in collaborating with Brainstrust – the Meg Jones Brain Cancer Charity, www.Brainstrust.org.uk

Brainstrust is working in partnership with the National Hospital Development Foundation to sustain and develop clinical practice at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery and with the University of Portsmouth, to support laboratory-based research and translational medicine. Brainstrust supports patients at the point of diagnosis, but is also looking beyond this point to improve the treatment, care and outcomes of all patients who are diagnosed with brain cancer.

Following the recent announcement about the collaboration with Brainstrust Lisa said “Since launching RAD4C it has always been my hope to be able to state that we are a registered charity and so through this exciting collaboration with Brainstrust, who are such a hard working charity and who do such important work for brain tumour patients, I couldn’t be happier.”

Since its launch Rent A Date For Charity has rapidly grown and is now receiving over 30,000 hits a month with over of £18,000 having already been donated.

Lisa continues to work hard in raising awareness of the campaign and the website through her media work with appearances on TV and within various popular consumer magazines and national newspapers, all of which can be viewed through the Press Pages on the website.

It has been reported that over 13,000 people of all ages are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year just in the UK.
